Where in the cell does glycolysis take place?

Glycolysis is the first step of cellular respiration. This process breaks down glucose into two pyruvic acids this process occurs in the cytoplasm of the cell and produces 2 atp and 2 NADH.
Following glycolysis which occurs in the cytoplasm outside of the mitochondrion the rest of cellular respiration occurs inside of the mitochondrion.
